2018 Hall of Fame Inductees

Lance Eddy

Lance Eddy was a longtime mathematics teacher and served in a variety of coaching roles during his many years at Canyon. As the Girls Softball Coach, Eddy led Canyon to eight Century League titles, 23 CIF playoff qualifications, and qualified for the Southern Section playoffs seven times. Eddy retired from teaching in 2003, and retired from coaching in 2009.

Eric Lin, M.D. – Class of 1993

While at Canyon, Dr. Eric Lin was a standout scholar-athlete. He was a 3-time league champion in the Tennis program, was the Boys 18 National Champion, a competitor in the 1993 US Open, a NCAA Doubles Champion, and a two-time NCAA Division 1 All-American at UCLA. He also served as the team’s captain during his senior year in college. Lin is a Board Certified
Orthopedic Surgeon Fellow trained in Spine Surgery and practices in Orange County, CA.

Mike Weinkauf

Mike Weinkauf was hired as part of Canyon High School’s inaugural staff in 1973 and taught English, History, and Speech, and coached Football and Wrestling. Weinkauf was an early adapter of video technology and incorporated video production into the learning curriculum. He was instrumental in developing the Television and Video Production program at Canyon High School. Weinkauf retired from Canyon in 2010.
